A road trip across the Kurdish landscape, from the plains of the region’s capital to the highest Zagros peaks and ending in the Qandil mountains. This is the story of an orphaned Kurdish Frenchwoman, who travels to Kurdistan to find her mother’s village. On her trip, she meets two American film students screening Charlie Chaplin films in villages, and they help her in the search. This UK premiere feature from director Jano Rosebiani stars Estelle Bajou, Zack Gold, Kurdo Galali.

Running time 93 minutes with a post-screening Q&A with director Jano Rosebiani.

About the director

Jano Rosebiani is a self taught Kurdish/American filmmaker, and winner of numerous international awards. His narrative features, Chaplin of the Mountains and One Candle, Two Candles are spearheading a new-wave movement in Kurdish cinema, renowned for their controversial subject matter and experimental approach.
